BlueChip Power in Lake Mary is looking for a freelance webmaster with solid experience in WordPress.

Experience in CSS, XHTML, PHP, and Javascript are a MUST – as well as experience getting WordPress to do what YOU need it to do.

You need to be comfortable modifying someone else’s code (like a WordPress plug-in or theme functions) in order to make it work for you (and how to keep those changes when updates come).

Experience using a CDN is helpful (especially Amazon S3 and Cloudfront) and the ability to work with other PHP web-based applications and the Smarty Template system. A good understanding of site optimization and using tools like YSlow, and Google Page Speed too, along with the Plesk control panel.

If you can work from sometimes vague requirements, and still keep things humming along, then this is for you.

You need to be a self-starter, and motivated to get the work done, sometimes with very short lead times.

I was hoping to find out if anyone would be interested in working on a volunteer project in Lakeland. We are in the process of building a community web portal built on wordpress and we need to add some experienced developers into the ranks.

We hope to develop a platform with functionality that is not currently freely available today.

I’m experiencing something weird lately. My blog stats have plummeted in the last few weeks. I mean, shrunk by two-thirds.

The drop is so sudden and dramatic that I have to wonder if it’s accurate.

The only thing that has changed about my blog is that I started allowing Google ads on it a few weeks ago.

It’s perplexing. If my abysmal stats continue, I can see Google taking the ads off my site because I’m now not delivering the numbers they require.

That doesn’t bother me. But I’d sure like to know what’s going on….

I’ve done some googling and all I can seem to find are plugins for updating if you change the permalink structure. Unfortunately I’m keeping the same structure, just renaming/moving things.

Suggestions?
